About Me
Glad you found the He Redeemed Us website. At the writing (2008) of this I am 25 years old and work in the computer industry. I was saved when I was 10 years old, but never really found myself truly following God. Sure I went to church and I prayed, but I still felt empty, I was more interested in my friends and doing what was fun for me. God was working on me though! I remember listening to a sermon several years later that pointed out a true Christian wants to follow God, wants to serve Him, and wants to be with Him. It hit me really fast that I wasn’t doing anything for God much less following Him. I have since become active in my church and God has given me a true passion for His word. I absolutely love reading scripture and studying so I can be closer to Him.
One of the passages of the Bible that truly changed my outlook on life was Psalm 73 about the challenge Asaph went through in seeing that those who rejected God seemed to have it so much better than he does. God showed me that I have an expected end and that my life on earth here is short and my focus should be doing as much as I can in the time I have here. Quit worrying about others and start worrying more about my Savior.
My goals are simple for this blog, I want to see Christians more passionate about God. I don’t want people to fall in the trap I did where you pray the prayer then you are done; you are saved, but you aren’t living for God. I want to see people living for God at work, at school, at church, and at home; doing all they can for Him.
Some FAQs I have received:
Why do you blog?
Honestly, for mostly selfish reasons. Sitting down and studying my Bible is something that took me a long time to learn; I figured blogging about my devotions would force me to keep at it - because like many things initially it’s tough not to let your devotionals slip.
What are the fundamental beliefs of this site?
1. The Bible is God’s word, it is inspired by Him, is infallible, and the final authority.
2. There is one God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit known as the Trinity)
3. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin living a sinless life.
4. Jesus Christ died for us that we may spend eternity in Heaven with him if we accept it.
5. Jesus will return to earth again to take us with Him.
What’s the signifcance of HeRedeemed Us!
You can read more of my thoughts about this here: Redeemed. In a nutshell life has no hope, future, happiness, joy, or anything good without Christ. We can put a facade over it and pretend it does, but ultimately it won’t. Redeemed means to saved from a destiny of hell and an eternity without God!
Is HeRedeemed.Us affiliated with a church denomination.
No! While particular denominations may be close to our beliefs we feel Jesus Christ was concerned more about souls and less about the type of church attended; our goal is to reach all of those who are lost, those who are broken, those struggling with their faith, and anyone God leads here.
